Melbourne Health, through its services, has a proud history of innovative health care. Over the past few years the organisation's focus has been on achieving stability and quality within Melbourne Health, and believe it has an immensely capable workforce to take the organisation forward, to embrace a wide range of opportunties and to achieve government priorities.
Melbourne Health is fortunate to be part of a unique precinct - the Parkville Precinct - with world leaders in health care, research and education, and recognises its future successes need to be built on developing effective collaborations.
There are a number of exciting developments underway, including the co-location of the new Royal Women's Hospital next to The Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus, development of integrated cancer services, and joint projects with community providers to improve service delivery.
Melbourne Health is also challenging the way its services are delivered. An Ambulatory Care Centre is being developed at the Royal Melbourne's Royal Park Campus as part of realigning services across the two campuses to better respond to the changing health needs of the community.
