MicroRidge Systems, Inc. Company Profile

MicroRidge Systems, Inc. was founded by John Schuldt, President, in January 1983 with its primary goal to develop and market microcomputer-based industrial software systems. Because of the founder's knowledge of the forest products industry and key contacts within the the forest products industry, the target market and application that was initially chosen was a statistical process control (SPC) application for lumber manufacturing. The SPC software was followed by the offering of various data collection devices that allowed the company to offer the first portable lumber size control system in the industry.In 1988 MicroRidge introduced its first gage interface to the general manufacturing market. This initial GageWay interface connected Mitutoyo gages to a serial port on the PC. In 1989, MicroRidge started the design and manufacture of a portable SPC computer for lumber manufacturing, which was followed in 1991 by a version for the general manufacturing industry.
