The National Procedures Institute (NPI). NPI was founded in 1989, by John L. Pfenninger, M.D., to teach outpatient procedural skills to primary care clinicians. We have grown and have added many other procedures including those for hospitalists, ER physicians, and for other specialties too. We provide over 130 CME courses annually at many locations nationwide, covering a full range of office procedures. By learning procedural skills, physicians improve continuity of care, provide comprehensive services, reduce health care costs, and enjoy an enhanced practice style
