A cross-border merger in 2005 brought together two companies known for delivering innovative clinical solutions to physician offices and hospitals in the United States and Canada. With over 250 employees and offices in the US, Canada, and India, Purkinje continues to develop breakthrough solutions for clinical documentation, care management, electronic prescribing and medication dispensing. A large and varied client base: Purkinje serves more than 5,000 clinicians in independent physician practices, community health centers and hospitals. The Purkinje EMR can be deployed in small offices and large enterprises alike and individual modules like electronic prescribing or document management can be used as a first step toward full EMR implementation.
More than just software: The Purkinje clinical decision support team has created and maintains a collection of evidence-based therapeutic reviews, context-specific electronic messages about best practices, online continuing medical education courses, and patient educational handouts for over 100 commonly treated primary care conditions. In addition, the clinical decision support specialists provide daily message updates about important clinical care issues. Our EMR supports customizable, specialty-specific documentation templates and a comprehensive clinical knowledgebase. US physicians can even get CME credit from the Washington University School of Medicine for using Purkinje and reading our evidence-based information.
