Currently Sterling IRB has several hundred studies under review. These studies involve both single investigators and multi-investigator protocols. Sterling has experience working with many of the largest pharmaceutical companies, as well as some of the smallest. Sterling works closely with both small, local and large, national contract research organizations. The Sterling Board is broad-based, with both clinical and research experience in many areas of medicine. In addition, the Board works with a number of consultants with regard to studies that involve areas of medicine not represented on the Board.
Sterling IRB meets weekly (meetings are scheduled every Wednesday or Thursday). The administrative staff works closely with the sponsor/CRO to meet deadlines that do not meet this schedule. The staff makes every effort to resolve any questions or problems before the full board meeting to ensure a timely approval of the study. The sponsor/CRO is notified within 24 hours of the results of the meeting, and written documentation is sent to each site (with copies going to the sponsor/CRO) usually within 48 hours of the meeting.
