TGO (Toxic Gas Ordinance) Technologies got its start when as a packager of chlorine it was required to upgrade the safety of its facility in San Jose, CA to comply with the toxic gas model ordinance adopted in Santa Clara County.
Drawing upon more than 25 years of experience repacking chlorine gas the founders found it necessary to create new technology that produced a safe and cost-effective system to prevent any release of chlorine gas from ton containers and 150 pound cylinders.

Total containment as provided by the ChlorTainer system has been classified as 'passive mitigation' and is the only technology acceptable for reducing offsite consequences when conducting RMP worst case release studies.
