Victorian Bioinformatics Consortium Company Profile

The VBC is an initiative of the Victorian State Government. Members of the Consortium are:
Monash University (Faculties of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences and Information Technology)
Department of Primary Industries, Plant Biotechnology Centre

This grouping brings together more than 70 researchers with advanced expertise in medicine, biotechnological, agricultural, and veterinary research, bioinformatics, statistics and computer science.

The Consortium conducts research in Bioinformatics and assists the performance of biological research within Australia by both academic and industrial users. It plays an important role in developing Australia's skill base in Bioinformatics through training postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows
