The Clinical Trials Center (CTC) was established as a clinical research unit in early 1992 within the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). Clinical researchers within the Institute needed to field new vaccines against infectious diseases of military significance. An average of 13-15 clinical studies are conducted each year through the CTC. To implement these studies, the CTC recruits over 350 volunteers per year. Our volunteers are a vital part of our team, which is dedicated to the development of new vaccines, drugs, and diagnostic systems that will benefit not only the military but all people.
