Erectile dysfunction (ED or impotence) is the inability to get and maintain an erection that is sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse, and affects half of all men between the ages of 40 to 70.

The causes of ED can be both physical and psychological, and can include;  narrowing of the blood vessels going to the penis (associated with hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes) hormonal problems, anxiety, depression  and  relationship problems. Because these causes are risk factors for other serious diseases, itis important that erectile dysfunction is dealth with by medical proffessionals.

Currently medications availible for EDare succful in 60% of cases and include Alprostadil, Caverject, Cialis, Levitra, Sildenafil citrate, Tadalafil, Vardenafil hydrochloride trihydrate, Viagra and Viridal.
