International Pathology Day on Nov. 5 is rapidly approaching. In celebration, LabsAreVital, a consortium formed of four professional bodies involved in laboratory medicine, is holding a Labs4Life photo contest to bring the worldwide pathology community together. Three winners will be chosen comprising the best captured images which show off where in the world they work. The three first place winners will be announced during International Pathology Day on Nov. 5 and will receive a prize of 1000USD to spend at a scientific meeting/conference of their choice. The winners will be required to write a blog of their experience for the LRV website. To view the entries so far visit http://bit.ly/Labs4Life.
The competition involves capturing a photo of yourself holding the ‘Labs4Life’ sign, available on the LabsAreVital website, at a local or national landmark and uploading the picture to the website. Creativity needs to be involved for a chance of winning, and you can even create your own sign by writing ‘Labs4Life’ in your own language. Three finalists will be chosen from each region (Eurasia, Europe and Africa, and the Americas) with a final public vote to select a first place winner from each region opening on Oct. 27.
LabsAreVital is a consortium of worldwide pathology associates, with more than 16,000 supporters signed-up around the world. The goal of the program is to support the pathology community and emphasize the critical role that laboratory professionals play in improving patient care.
