Dublin, July 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/hffxt3/global_mobile_m2m) has announced the addition of the "Global Mobile M2M Module Market 2015-2019" report to their offering.
The global mobile M2M module market to grow at a CAGR of 20.37% over the period 2015-2019.
The report covers the present scenario and the growth prospects of the global mobile M2M module market for the period 2015-2019. On the basis of technology, the market can be classified into three: 2G, 3G, and LTE.
Mobile M2M module is a chip embedded in smart devices, which enables the data transmission and communication between electronic devices. With the emergence of IoT and M2M technology, there is growing demand for mobile M2M module for data transmission purposes. Mobile M2M module is used for two classes of interconnections: short-range and wide area. For wide area interconnection, embedded M2M module is used to connect remote devices to the internet and application servers. For short-range interconnection, embedded short-range wireless M2M modules are used, which follow a wide range of protocols and frequency bands depending on the applications and regional spectrum regulatory constraints. Embedded short-range M2M modules operate in license-free ISM frequency bands such as 169 MHz, 433 MHz, 868 MHz, 915 MHz, and 2.4 GHz.
There is a continuous decline in the price of cellular M2M radio modules over the years leading to a significant decline in M2M applications in the M2M industry. The 3G radio modules were new, and their prices were two to three times higher than the prices of 2G modules. However, in 2014, the prices reduced. It is expected that the price of the modules will decline further during the forecast period.
According to the report, the implementation of IoT is increasing significantly in developed regions such as North America and Western Europe and in countries such as China, South Korea, and Singapore. This enables the use of several new M2M services such as smart homes, connected cars, connected healthcare, and smart parking. However, these services require devices that have a mobile M2M module. For instance, a car will be a connected car when its head unit has a mobile M2M module that will connect its equipment to the car manufacturer, or a connected car service provider, using a mobile network. With the rise in the implementation of connected services, there is also an increase in the shipment and demand for mobile M2M modules.
Further, the report states that the market faces some challenges such as the need to redesign the devices for integrating M2M devices with cellular M2M technology.
