SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - July 23, 2015) - Skylight Healthcare Systems, developer of the industry's most comprehensive interactive patient engagement platform for hospitals and health systems, announced registration has opened for the 9th Annual Skylight Client Conference, Oct. 12 - 14, 2015 at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego. Skylight's conference will focus on how hospitals are addressing escalating demands to reduce overall healthcare costs while improving the health of their populations and the experience of their patients. The conference will feature firsthand examples from hospitals using interactive patient systems as the cornerstone of their patient engagement initiatives.
Built on the foundation of knowledge transfer, the conference serves as a gathering for a progressive community of healthcare leaders from acute care, pediatric and specialty hospitals and health systems. Centered on advances in the deployment of IPS aimed at dramatically impacting patient experience, HCAHPS scores, patient safety and clinical workflow, speakers will also address their population health management strategies.
Highlighting the event will be extraordinary keynote speakers including Peter Edelstein, MD, FACS, FASCRS, Chief Medical Officer, Elsevier Clinical Solutions. Dr. Edelstein will present; "Patient Engagement: The Complexity Behind the Buzzword." He has been recognized for presenting the seemingly complex through humor, analogies, and respect for the audience's intelligence -- translating the topic easily and successfully.
"Patient Engagement is now at the forefront of the national healthcare conversation as we are beginning to appreciate that only through engaged and empowered patients can we dramatically move the healthcare value needle," commented Dr. Edelstein. "Skylight's conference is an outstanding forum where leaders discuss key topics as to how wellness can be enhanced and adverse readmissions reduced and how care can be better personalized to improve outcomes that matter to providers, patients -- and ultimately -- populations."
Joining Dr. Edelstein as a keynote will be national regarded speaker Brooke Billingsly. Providing inspirational, moving, and practical knowledge, Brooke has spent seventeen years as the co-owner of Perception Strategies, Inc. a healthcare perception research company. She spent four years conducting clinical deep dives and ethnography studies and one year as a cancer patient. Brooke shares her emotional journey, many times through humor, as she continues to navigate her way through a healthcare system on the path to healing. Her unique perspective as a healthcare consultant, human behavioral expert and now as a patient provides attendees with strategies that personally impact the patient, aligns the organization with the patient's goals, and conveys a message of inspiration.
