HERNDON, Va., July 26, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Golinsky Specific Chiropractic announced that chiropractor Dr. Doug Nagel has joined the Herndon VA chiropractic center. Dr. Nagel brings over 23 years of experience to the practice with a special focus on the prevention and treatment of sports related injuries. In addition to chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Nagel integrates a variety of treatment techniques into his practice. He is Master Certified in Active Release Technique and also utilizes the Graston Technique and Shockwave Therapy (E.P.A.T.).

Chiropractor Dr. Phil Golinsky, owner of Golinsky Specific Chiropractic, announced that Dr. Doug Nagel has joined the practice. A chiropractor for more than 23 years, including 13 in New York City, Dr. Nagel brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Golinsky Specific Chiropractic.

After relocating to Northern Virginia from New York, Dr. Nagel worked as the chiropractor for the Washington Capitals from 2008 to 2010. He is the former owner of Complete Health 7 Healing Center in Arlington and Shirlington. He also worked as a chiropractor with Recharge Sports Injury Center.

Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Nagel played Division I Lacrosse at C.W. Post University in Long Island, NY. He was a nationally ranked Body Builder who competed for 15 years.

"As a long-time competitive athlete and sports enthusiast, Dr. Nagel uniquely understands the challenges facing athletes," said Dr. Phil Golinsky, the practice owner. "He also understands that just because you are not a professional athlete does not mean that you don't deserve professional-level care. That's why we are excited to have Dr. Doug join our team. We know he will be able to help many of our patients improve their athletic performance and achieve new goals by reducing their risk for injury. He can also help them safely stay active even during the recovery process, so they don't fall behind in their training."

Dr. Nagel is a member of the American Academy for Professional Athletes and also practices mixed martial arts.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Dr. Golinsky at Golinsky Chiropractic and providing an elevated level of sports injury care to our patients," said Dr. Nagel. "I am passionate about helping patients of all ages heal after an injury so they can live life to its fullest potential. This is especially true for sports injuries, which can so often sideline a promising career or simply keep individuals from being active for fear of re-injury."

Dr. Nagel says that he draws on his own person background in sports, as well as his wealth of knowledge from practicing the Graston Technique, Shockwave Therapy and Active Release Therapy (A.R.T.) to create custom treatment programs for each patient.

"Every patient has unique needs, and my goal as a chiropractor is to find the best treatment options to safely and effectively address these needs," said Dr. Nagel.
