UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas, Aug. 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital announces that the animal hospital is celebrating its 30th anniversary this August. As part of the veterinary hospital's 30 years of service to Universal City, Texas, the animal hospital is hosting a drive during the month of September to help collect items most needed by local animal shelters. The hospital is also announcing their Open House in November where pet owners may tour the practice and bring their families for a fun-filled event.
Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital is reaching a major milestone in August – the animal hospital's 30th anniversary – and is starting the celebration by giving back to the surrounding communities. Veterinarian Dr. Randy Cottingham announced that the animal hospital will be hosting a drive to benefit local shelters during the month of September. The drive will benefit the following organizations: Converse Animal Shelter, Live Oak Animal Control, and Schertz Humane Society/Homes for Pets. Information on the items being requested for donation can be found at the animal hospital.
The hospital will also provide an opportunity for clients to learn how to care for their pet in an interactive setting by offering wellness classes in October taught by a technician. Each class will have a different theme, including how to provide pet dental care, choosing a healthy diet, the importance of vaccinations and general wellness care for your pet.
November 7, 2015, will mark the day of Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital's big Open House and Family Fun Event. This event will be an opportunity for clients and community members to tour the hospital, meet the staff and learn the importance of preventative care for their pets. The Live Oak K-9 Unit will be present for families to watch demonstrations, and Dr. Cottingham will be making a donation to the K-9 organization at the event in appreciation for their work in the community.
The animal hospital will also have a professional animal trainer on hand to offer advice about basic pet training and show dog training demonstrations. There will be food, fun activities for the whole family and a raffle for those who visit all the stations. A costume contest will take place for all the pets, so they can be included in the fun, too.
"We hope pet owners who visit during our open house will use this as an opportunity to meet our animal hospital family of veterinarians, veterinary technicians and administrative staff," said Dr. Cottingham. "We're here to answer any questions about pet care basics, including pet vaccinations, surgery and nutrition. Pet owners will also be able to see our high-tech surgical suite and diagnostic equipment."
Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital provides comprehensive pet wellness care, pet dental care, pet surgery and pet boarding.
