RIDGEFIELD, Conn., March 8, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Merritt Healthcare Advisors, the leading provider of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) services for surgery centers, physician practices and ancillary service providers, today announced that Jim Freund is the company's new executive vice president of business development.
"Jim is a proven sales leader in the ambulatory surgery center market," Merritt Healthcare Advisors Partner Matt Searles said. "His deep expertise and relationships in our industry will be a tremendous asset to our clients and us."
In this role, Freund will lead the sales team at Merritt Healthcare Advisors, which helps clients realize the true value of their assets, source relationships of strategic value and ultimately manage the process of achieving a successful transaction. The company is actively involved in all aspects of the deal, from preparation of the Confidential Information Memorandum to marketing, structuring the transaction, guiding the buyer's due diligence process and advising on the business aspects of the legal documents, including assisting in preparation of all closing documents and schedules.
"It is truly rewarding to be able to work with a company that brings such significant value to physician-owners who are selling an interest in their ASC or affiliated business", states Freund. "I simply cannot imagine owners taking on this complex process themselves when Merritt is able to deliver significantly better results in every instance."
During his more than 25 years in the healthcare sector, which include being a founding partner in Source Medical, Freund has worked with a majority of management companies, consultants and ASC industry leaders as well as more than 1,000 individual facilities. He has extensive background in surgery center operations and technology along with a deep understanding of ASC development and ownership structures.
Freund was selected as SurgiStrategies' "Who's Who in the ASC industry" in 2009 and as a "Person to Know" numerous times by Becker's Healthcare. In addition, he has spoken at more than a dozen conferences and has been a frequent contributor to industry publications. Freund is a graduate of Quinnipiac University's School of Business and has been inducted into the Branford, Quinnipiac University and New Haven Tap-Off Club Hall of Fames.
"Merritt Healthcare Advisors is successful because of the knowledge and experience we bring to the table," Merritt Healthcare Advisors Partner Rich Searles said. "Jim's proven sales record and insights will be a great addition to our already talented team."
