Shares in Sphere Medical Holding PLC (LON:SPHR) climbed smartly as its Proxima 4 criitcal care blood gas monitoring system can now work with electronics giant Philips' IntelliVue Patient Monitoring Systems. The combination with Philips’ equipment means that Proxima's results can be recorded and displayed alongside other critical monitoring information, such as blood pressure, ECG, EEG, respiratory rate, cardiac output and temperature, said Sphere. “With the increasing adoption of electronic data record systems in critical care settings, Philips compatibility will also give Proxima customers a very simple means of integrating their data into electronic medical record systems (EMR).” Proxima 4 system is currently being sold directly into the critical care market across Europe. Wolfgang Rencken, chief executive, said: “Many of our [hospital] customers use Philips monitoring and data management systems and this connectivity further helps the practical implementation of Proxima as an acute respiratory and metabolic monitoring device in critical care settings.” Shares rose 9% to 8.75p.NEXT ARTICLE
