Orange County Global Medical Center Receives Highest Certification for a Stroke Center
Today, Orange County Global Medical Center announced it has passed the Comprehensive Stroke Certification Survey and is proud to be one of less than 200 Comprehensive Stroke Centers across the nation.
A stroke occurs when the brain is deprived of sufficient blood flow, leading to an interruption in the delivery of vital oxygen and nutrients. A delayed disruption to normal blood flow can cause lasting damage to brain tissue. Early administration is proven to improve long-term outcomes and the key to recovery starts during the first couple of hours when a stroke hits.
“Orange County Global Medical Center’s highly-trained stroke team includes board-certified stroke physicians, interventional neuro-radiologists, neuro-surgeons and other stroke care specialists who are devoted to delivering exceptional patient care,” said Orange County Global Medical Center Chief Executive Officer, Suzanne Richards. “Time is precious when the first onset of stroke symptoms first occur.
