Organization Welcomes New Board Appointments Along with Hill Visits
ECFC, the leading nonprofit organization promoting choice in benefit solutions, today announced its 37th Annual Conference taking place this week. Additionally, ECFC welcomed a new chair and co-chair of its Board of Directors, as well as new and returning officers for 2018.
37th ECFC Annual Conference
The ECFC Annual Conference takes place March 14-16 in Washington, D.C. and will feature congressional speakers, in-depth briefings, inside the beltway keynote speakers, regulatory agency, and technical panels. ECFC’s Annual Conference also includes scheduled meetings on Capitol Hill with congressional members and staffers.
“ECFC members are a vital force and an essential voice in the legislative and regulatory debate surrounding tax-advantaged benefits packages, and attendees of the ECFC Annual Conference will ensure that the voices and concerns of those on the front lines of employee benefits delivery and consumption are heard,” said ECFC’s Executive Director Martin Trussell.
The keynote for ECFC’s annual Washington conference is Janet Trautwein, the executive vice president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). A frequent speaker on health policy issues, Janet is an expert in health insurance markets and health plans of all sizes and frequently testifies before Congress on these issues.

ECFC Board Appointments
Jody Dietel has been a member of ECFC since its inception 37 years ago and has been elected to many positions within ECFC over that time. In her role as Chief Compliance Officer at WageWorks, Dietel navigates the maze of federal and state regulations and serves as a liaison between WageWorks and key industry groups and governing bodies.
In her role as Vice President of Healthcare Services at First Data Healthcare Services, Joan Christensen leads the healthcare team and is responsible for client services, implementations, developing new products and enhancements to existing product functionality. Christensen has been a longstanding member of ECFC serving multiple roles.
Returning officers include Chris Bryd of WEX Health as Secretary and Jeremy Miller of FSAstore.com/HSAstore.com as Treasurer. Additionally, Gina Gerber of PayFlex, an Aetna Company and Erin Freiberg, J.D., of Employee Benefits Corporation were recently elected to At-Large Director Board positions. They will be joined by newly elected Board-Elected Directors including Ben Morris, UMB Healthcare Services and Anne Richter, Ameriflex.
In their newly elected roles, these leaders will assist in expanding ECFC’s mission of advancing healthcare consumerism.
