Vast majority of heavy smokers not screened for lung cancer despite USPSTF recommendations

(American Society of Clinical Oncology) An analysis of 1,800 lung cancer screening sites nationwide found that only 1.9 percent of more than 7 million current and former heavy smokers were screened for lung cancer in 2016, despite United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and ASCO screening recommendations.
