The invention provides highly selective monoclonal antibodies against the extracellular domain (ECD) or intracellular domain (ICD) of neuregulin-2, a ligand for the ErbB receptors in adult human brain. Neuregulins regulate a diverse array of neurological process in the central nervous system and are implicated in schizophrenia and other psychiatric disorders. However, an understanding of the specific role of neuregulin 2 has been hindered by a lack of specific antibodies useful in immunoblotting and immunohistology studies.
