Enigma Biomedical Group (EBG) today announced a collaboration agreement with Invicro, a Konica Minolta Company and a leading provider of imaging services and software for research and drug development, to cooperate in the development of Synaptic Density Biomarker Imaging (“SDI”). SDI promises to provide an important new tool in understanding neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
As part of the agreement, both parties will contribute their respective SDI-related assets and competencies to provide the pharmaceutical industry access to this unique imaging tool as well as specific informatics and analytics capabilities. Enigma will hold the various commercial and distribution licenses and be responsible for development and global tracer access whereas Invicro will focus on informatics solutions for better interpretation of this cutting-edge biomarker technology. Use of this biomarker platform is an additional approach to supporting development of disease-modifying therapies for neurodegenerative disorders.
Lee Ann Gibbs, President of Enigma Biomedical Group said, “This is an important step in the combination of Enigma and InviCRO expertise and capabilities to provide unique tools to support critical biomarker research projects globally and supporting the efforts of our pharmaceutical partners to combat neurodegenerative disease. Collaborating with Invicro on this initiative allows Enigma and our affiliates, Cerveau and Meilleur, to continue to execute the visionary strategy of providing biomarkers to industry and academia to accelerate research in the field of Neurodegenerative disease.”
“Working with Enigma provides great synergy for our pharmaceutical sponsors and we all look forward to a great research partnership in the coming years. Synaptic density imaging has great potential to provide valuable information in the assessment of novel therapies in neurodegeneration,” stated Dr. Jack Hoppin, Co-Founder and CEO of Invicro.
“At Enigma, we are focused on providing information and technologies to researchers and clinicians to enable the improvement of brain health” said Rick Hiatt, Chief Executive Officer of Enigma Biomedical Group and President and CEO of Cerveau Technologies, Inc. “We are thrilled by the opportunity to work with Invicro to foster development of SDI technology. Consistent with our vision, we will make novel imaging biomarkers and supporting informatics available to our pharmaceutical industry and academic partners, providing access to the broader scientific community.”
