Research in olfaction regulation points to appetite suppression, healthier eating, and weight loss.

JUPITER, Fla. (PRWEB) February 20, 2019

In this episode, the award-winning series, Innovations with Ed Begley, Jr. will focus on weight loss and weight management and how recent developments in the ability to affect olfactory regulation are helping people lose weight and prefer healthy food. This segment is scheduled to broadcast 2Q 2019. Check your local listings for more information.

The role of olfaction in appetite regulation, food intake, and body weight has been studied in recent years, revealing a complex mechanism. As such, findings have shown that exposure to food odors increases food intake and reduction of smelling may have beneficial affect over healthy eating and weight loss.

This segment will focus on NOZNOZ™, an innovative wearable product by Beck Medical to reduce smelling capacity, helping people to achieve weight loss goals, curb appetite and reduce sugar consumption. The discreet, drug free, fully concealed NOZNOZ™ allows comfortable breathing through the nose, while bypassing the olfactory system – reducing smelling capacity.

“The concept behind NOZNOZ is very straightforward scientifically. The sense of smell is known to be intimately related to food intake, and the olfactory organ has a number of metabolic hormones and hormone receptors that play a role in weight maintenance," said Richard L. Atkinson, M.D Chief Scientific Officer, Beck Medical.

Exploring the science behind NOZNOZ™, the segment of Innovations will educate viewers about the potential positive effects of decreasing olfactory sensors and present the product and its mechanism of work.

NOZNOZ was tested in a small proof of concept clinical trial, with 65 completers, 37 using NOZNOZ daily and 28 control-using saline drops. In this trial, NOZNOZ almost doubled the weight loss for participants age 50 years or younger compared to control. NOZNOZ also led to healthy changes in food preferences, finding significantly more participants in the NOZNOZ group (all ages) reported that they reduced sugar consumption, artificial sweeteners, and sweet beverages compared to control.

“NOZNOZ offers a new game changing approach to promote weight loss, like contact lenses- but for the nose. Dieters strive to find the solution that will best serve them. We are excited to be featured on the award-winning series- Innovations with Ed Begley, Jr, to tell people about this newly available product that may help many dieters daily,” said Adva Beck, Founder & CEO, Beck Medical. “NOZNOZ-It’s because the nose knows,” Beck added.
