Potomac Case Management celebrates their future by showcasing their new Opportunity Center and True Opportunities (Tru Ops) program which provides centralized reengagement services for disconnected youth between the ages of 18-24.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (PRWEB) May 01, 2019
Potomac Case Management celebrates their future by showcasing their new Opportunity Center and True Opportunities (Tru Ops) program which provides centralized re-engagement services for disconnected youth between the ages of 18-24. In partnership with the Governor’s Office for Children, the center serves as an entry point and hub for services for disconnected youth to obtain assistance, case management, and navigation services to reconnect them with either educational or employment opportunities.
When it opened its doors in 1999, Potomac Case Management Services (PCMS) was small, general case management serving adults only. Over the years, the facility has grown and evolved, and it is now a multifaceted mental health service provider offering case management and care coordination services to children and adults in Washington, Carroll and Frederick County, Maryland.
In addition to providing high-quality mental health navigation, PCMS also offers a range of related services which include the Family Strong Program, Housing Resources, Journey Life Care, Love and Logic Parenting, and much more. Driving this growth is their dedication to the health and wellness of children, youth, adults, and families. They are committed to the alignment of community partnerships that create easier access to services for those who are suffering or seeking to improve their lives.
To recognize all that PCMS has achieved, staff members, clients, and friends of the organization will gather at the E.M. Tobias Family Center for a two-part celebration on Friday, June 14, 2019. From 2-4 pm we invite guests to join us and celebrate the opening of the Opportunity Center and True Opportunities (Tru Ops) program. Then from 4-7pm PCMS celebrates their 20th-anniversary, visitors will be able to tour the facility to learn more about the programs and services offered at the center. There will also be fun activities for children, music, light refreshments, and various community agencies on site to provide valuable resource information to the guests.
“Twenty years is quite an accomplishment,” said Dawn Johns, Executive Director. “At the time we opened, we only had one case management program serving adults in Washington County. Today that looks very different as PCMS essentially serves every age through the focused lenses of programs and staff designed to meet the various needs of those with behavioral health. No matter what their circumstances, we encourage people to release any previous view or stigma and not hesitate to reach out for help. Some of our work involves getting participants connected to a specific service offered by other providers and organizations, which makes it easier for the participants to have a centralized connection. This is a perfect opportunity for people to learn more about how our core values of kindness, acceptance, responsiveness, and dependability can help them overcome their fear of getting the help they need.”
