Former Global Director of Marketing and Communications of Taco Bell Corp. will lead fitness company’s expansion across Southwest US
Chuze Fitness, an all-inclusive, affordable fitness club with over 30 locations across the western United States, announces the hiring of CMO Billy Grenham in conjunction with new club openings in the California market. Chuze San Bernardino just opened its doors and a new location in Cudahy is soon to follow. With memberships as low as $9.99/month and amenities including an in-house cinema, child care, HIIT Training, heated yoga classes, a smoothie bar, and hydromassage, Chuze is reinventing the fitness experience.
Grenham joins Chuze after five years with Taco Bell Corp., most recently as Global Director of Marketing and Communications, where he led the company to international success implementing his “globally consistent and locally relevant” go-to-market strategy across all digital channels, designed to celebrate diverse cultural nuances and shared passions in an authentic way. Prior to his work with Taco Bell Corp., Grenham led brand management and digital marketing at PepsiCo’s natural beverage division for IZZE Sparkling Juice. Prior to that, he spearheaded the award-winning, Old Spice “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” campaign. Throughout his 15+ year career, Grenham has developed and executed omnichannel strategies through data-driven research insights, new product innovations, and cultural grassroots movements.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Billy to the Chuze Family. Joining us from outside the fitness industry, he brings a fresh perspective to Chuze,” says Cory Brightwell, Chuze CEO. “His customer-centric mindset and innovative approach when it comes to building brand loyalty make him a perfect fit for our company.”
“Chuze is about more than just reps and sets,” says Grenham, “it’s about people and culture. Growing up in a family of fitness entrepreneurs, my background will help reinforce Chuze’s commitment to fun fitness for all. It’s a great feeling to come full circle and work with a brand that holds true to strong family values. My goal is to grow the brand with authenticity and intention, and continue to offer our signature customer experience and amazing amenities at an affordable price. We act small and build community first, and we’ll maintain this approach as we continue to open clubs across the country.”
Grenham graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2005 and began his career in PR and marketing in the CPG and food & beverage industries. Growing up in Southern California, Grenham was introduced to the fitness industry early via his family’s business. His mother and father are the founders, owners, and operators of a youth-focused community gym, that has been in operation for over 30 years.
Grenham will lead marketing at Chuze headquarters in San Diego, California. Memberships are available in San Bernardino and pre-sale has begun for memberships at Chuze Cudahy; to sign up or learn more, please visit www.chuzefitness.com. Chuze serves over 237,000 members in 20 cities across the US, and expects to open 8 new clubs in 2019.
