Shriners Hospitals for Children patient ambassador lead a car meet and toy drive instead of an actual birthday party to celebrate turning 10. Sebastian asked his 7K+ social media followers to help support his cause and bring a new unwrapped toy to donate to the patients at the Pasadena Shriners for Children Medical Center. It was a successful event being Sebastian’s first car meet/toy drive and thanks to his followers and his support group Purist and Car Code Auto, they helped raise over 300 toys. Sebastian has been a patient at Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena since he was six months. Sebastian was diagnosed early on with a rare genetic disorder called osteogenesis imperfect OI for short, but even though he has a brittle bone syndrome that does not stop him from living up to his signature hashtag #bornforfast. Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a genetic disorder characterized by bones that break easily, often from little or no apparent cause. A classification system of different types of OI is commonly used to help describe how severely a person with OI is affected. For example, a person may have just a few or as many as several hundred fractures in a lifetime. (OIF.org)
