Unravelling the 3-dimensional genomic structure of male germ cells

(Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona) A study led by the UAB and the CNAG-CRG reveals the three-dimensional genomic structure of male germ cells and how this structure determines their function. Published in Cell Reports, it represents a significant advance in our understanding of how the dynamics of insulator proteins and transcriptional activity are coupled during the 3D genome re-organisation that takes place during the formation of male germ cells.
