Dr. Winer will present this year’s Giants of Cancer Care® Lecture

Winer, M.D., director, breast oncology center, Susan F. Smith Center for Women’s Cancers, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, will present the Giants of Cancer Care® Lecture on lessons he has learned about meeting the needs of patients with cancer at the 37th Annual Chemotherapy Foundation Symposium: Innovative Cancer Therapy for Tomorrow® (CFS®).

Winer is an oncology expert who has designed and conducted clinical trials that have changed clinical practice and paved the way for more personalized treatment of patients with breast cancer. His many honors include the Susan G. Komen Brinker Award for Clinical Distinction in Clinical Research in 2018, the American Society of Clinical Oncology Gianni Bonadonna Breast Cancer Award and Lecture in 2017 and the William L. McGuire Memorial Lecture at the 2016 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.

The Giants of Cancer Care® program will be represented during the entire CFS® meeting in the hallway leading to the session room where attendees can nominate their mentors/peers who have achieved landmark successes within the global field of oncology. Nominators may also enter for a chance to win a trip to the reception, which will include round-trip airfare and a one-night stay at a hotel in Chicago. On May 28, 2020, the 2020 Giants of Cancer Care® class of inductees will be celebrated at the annual awards reception at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. Members of the Giants of Cancer Care® steering committee will select semifinalists from the list of hundreds of nominations. Afterward, a selection committee comprising an exclusive group of 115+ oncology experts will vote to determine the 2020 inductees.
The 37th Annual CFS® will take place Nov. 6 to 8 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City. This conference brings together more than 1,000 health care professionals for three days to network with the top minds in oncology. At this year’s meeting, internationally renowned faculty will provide attendees with expert insights into the latest developments in cancer therapeutics, offering an unparalleled opportunity to learn how innovative approaches fit into existing treatment paradigms to optimize care and outcomes for their patients with cancer.
