(Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences) Brain-computer interfaces (BCI) can measure changes in electrical brain activity that just by thinking about performing a task. These changes can be converted into signals via machine learning, which can operate a computer or a prosthesis. Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and TU Berlin demonstrated that after just one hour's training with a BCI there were significant changes in the brain's structure and function.
