WARNING: HIGH PRESSURE OXIDIZING GAS.  VIGOROUSLY ACCELERATES COMBUSTION.  MIXTURES CONTAINING CARBON DIOXIDE CAN INCREASE RESPIRATION AND HEART RATE.  Secure Cylinder and provide adequate ventilation in storage and use.  Keep oil and grease away.  No smoking in cylinder area.  Do not use or store near heat or open flame.  Use only with equipment cleaned for oxygen service and rated for cylinder pressure.  Use a back flow preventive device in the piping.  Cylinder temperature should not exceed 125°F (52°C).  Open valve slowly.  Close valve after each use and when empty.  Return with at least 25 PSIG pressure. Use in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheet and Compressed Gas Association Publication P-1. FIRST AID:  IF INHALED, remove to fresh air.  If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.  Call a physician.  CAUTION: USE NO OIL ON VALVE OR CONNECTIONS.  TRANSFILLING OF THIS GAS IS PROHIBITED. DO NOT REMOVE THIS PRODUCT LABEL.

The Cyclocapnic Method for Measurement of Chemosensitivity

We aim to test our method for measuring chemosensitivity (the ventilatory response to a change in carbon dioxide), which uses sinusoidal carbon dioxide stimuli. Hypotheses: - Ca...

Effect of PEP on Oxygen Saturation and Carbon Dioxide After Abdominal Surgery

PEP (positive expiratory pressure) is routinely given to patients after surgery in order to improve lung function. There is, however, no evidence of effect on lung function, postoperative ...

Carbon Dioxide Insufflation Colonoscopy in IBD Patients

Carbon dioxide insufflation during colonoscopy significantly reduces discomfort (pain, bloating and flatulence) after the procedure. So far, it has not been studied in inflammatory bowel d...

Radiotherapy - Cerebrovascular Reactivity (RT-CVR Study)

Brain tumours often have low oxygen levels, and that makes them more resistant to radiation therapy. If patients breathe the right mixture of oxygen during treatment, radiation may work be...

Carbon Dioxide Insufflation on Cerebral Microemboli

The purpose of this study is to determine if blowing carbon dioxide into the surgical field during open-heart surgery to displace retained chest cavity air from the atmosphere will decreas...

PubMed Articles [8228 Associated PubMed Articles listed on BioPortfolio]

The ratios of central venous to arterial carbon dioxide content and tension to arteriovenous oxygen content are not associated with overall anaerobic metabolism in postoperative cardiac surgery patients.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the ability of the ratios of central venous to arterial carbon dioxide content and tension to arteriovenous oxygen content to predict an increase in oxygen...

Reduction of carbon oxides by an acyclic silylene: reductive coupling of CO.

The reactions of a boryl-substituted acyclic silylene with carbon dioxide and monoxide are reported. The former proceeds via oxygen atom abstraction, generating CO (with rearrangement of the putative ...

The online monitoring and assessment of thallium stress using oxygen consumption rate and carbon dioxide excretion rate of zebrafish (Danio rerio).

An online monitoring and assessment system of metabolism to measure oxygen consumption rate (OC) and carbon dioxide (CO) excretion rate (CR) of zebrafish (Danio rerio) was used to illustrate changes i...

Ag surface segregation in nanoporous Au catalysts during CO oxidation.

The present study focuses on the modification of surface compositional profiles induced in nanoporous (NP) Au catalysts by the catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide in the presence ...

Umpolung Reactivity of Aldehydes toward Carbon Dioxide.

Carbon dioxide is an intrinsically stable molecule. Therefore, its activation requires extra energy input in the form of reactive reagents and/or activated catalysts and, often, harsh reaction conditi...
