The deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap technique gives good clinical results, but aesthetic surgical adjustments are often necessary. Lipofilling represents a good complementary method, but fat resorption within the few months after surgery limits its use. Recently, a new protocol was introduced and successfully evaluated on murine models. This study aims to evaluate this protocol following a DIEP procedure by three-dimensional analysis.

Implant based reconstruction is one of the well-established methods to restore shape and volume after total mastectomy. Exposure of an implant is a serious complication that could lead to failure of t...
In the setting of secondary breast reconstruction by deep inferior epigastric artery perforator (DIEP) flap, the mastectomy skin is usually deepithelialized and buried under the reconstructed breast. ...
Breast reconstruction by deep inferior epigastric perforator flap (DIEP) involves only little rectus abdominis muscle sacrifice. However, the operative procedure may get complicated. We propose here a...
Recently, the profunda artery perforator flap has become one of the popular flap choices for patients who desire autologous breast reconstruction but are not optimal candidates for deep inferior epiga...
The deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap may be associated with less long-term donor-site morbidity compared with free muscle-sparing transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap (MS-TRAM)...
The sensory recovery of the breast remains an undervalued aspect of breast reconstruction and surgical reinnervation is not regarded as a priority by most reconstructive surgeons. A prospe...
Bilateral DIEP flap needs two groups of vessel pedicles. We suppose that the bilateral DIEP flap may survive on one vessel pedicle by means of interconnection of bilateral DIEA. This study...
The investigators intend to undertake a study to investigate the effect of radiotherapy on deep inferior epigastric perforator flap reconstructions (DIEP). Adjuvant post-mastectomy radioth...
Prospective observational study to evaluate effects on washing to improve viability of fat grafts in breast lipofilling.
The purpose of this study is to analyze an institution's experience with starting a subspecialized DIEP flap program and to determine whether other hospitals would benefit from instituting...
A method of chemical analysis based on the detection of characteristic radionuclides following a nuclear bombardment. It is also known as radioactivity analysis. (McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 4th ed)
Surgical reconstruction of the breast including both augmentation and reduction.
The analysis of an activity, procedure, method, technique, or business to determine what must be accomplished and how the necessary operations may best be accomplished.
A fluid-filled closed cavity or sac that is lined by an EPITHELIUM and found in the BREAST. It may appear as a single large cyst in one breast, multifocal, or bilateral in FIBROCYSTIC BREAST DISEASE.
A set of techniques used when variation in several variables has to be studied simultaneously. In statistics, multivariate analysis is interpreted as any analytic method that allows simultaneous study of two or more dependent variables.
