Chemo- and Diastereoselective Michael-Michael-Acetalization Cascade for the Synthesis of 1,3-Indandione-fused Spiro4.5decan Scaffolds.

A novel, organobase-catalyzed and highly chemoselective Michael-Michael-acetalization cascade is presented for the efficient synthesis of spiro-indandione skeletons. Following this very simple protoco...

A Stereoselective Michael-Mannich Annelation Strategy for the Construction of Novel Tetrahydrocarbazoles.

A novel annelation strategy has been devised for stereoselective synthesis of tetrahydrocarbazoles. The pathway features a regio- and stereocontrolled condensation of indole and its substituted deriva...

Heterogeneous enantioselective synthesis of chromans via the oxa-Michael-Michael cascade reaction synergically catalyzed by grafted chiral bases and inherent hydroxyls on mesoporous silica surface.

A heterogeneous enantioselective oxa-Michael-Michael reaction for the synthesis of chromans has been developed on a heterogeneous acid-base synergic catalyst with inherent silica as acidic sites and i...

Enantioselective Michael Addition of Photogenerated o-Quinodimethanes to Enones Catalyzed by Chiral Amino Acid Esters.

The first example of a photoexcitated amine-catalyzed process for asymmetric Michael addition of o-quinodimethanes to enones is described. In the presence of simple chiral amino acid esters, a variety...

The Effects of Tiopronin on 3-Aminopropanal Level & Neurologic Outcome After Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage

The purpose of this phase II study is to further assess the safety of tiopronin in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage(aSAH) patients in order to obtain preliminary data on the efficacy of ...

Rate of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease at St. Michael's Hospital

A retrospective review of women who came through the ER at SMH with a pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) or tubo-ovarian abscess (TOA) between 1995-2005. They were looking at people with th...

Use of Classic LMA During Endovascular Therapy

Background: Earlier treatment and resolution for patients with cerebral aneurysms is now possible due to earlier diagnosis. This observational study aims to evaluate the intraoperative car...

Positive Pregnancy Program

The Positive Pregnancy Program is an innovative, unique, interprofessional model of care for HIV-positive pregnant women. This program has been in place at St. Michael's Hospital for five ...

The Multi-Media Social Skills Project for Adults

This study is investigating the development of a social skills training program for adults with Asperger's Syndrome or high-functioning autism, ages 18 to 35 years. The Principal Investiga...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A hematopoietic growth factor which promotes proliferation and maturation of neutrophil granulocytes. Clinically it is effective in decreasing the incidence of febrile neutropenia in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive therapy or in reducing the duration of neutropenia and neutropenia-related clinical sequelae in patients with non-myeloid malignancies undergoing myeloblastive chemotherapy followed by BMT. It has also been used in AIDS patients with CMV retinitis being treated with GANCICLOVIR. (Gelman CR, Rumack BH & Hess AJ (eds): DRUGDEX(R) System. MICROMEDEX, Inc., Englewood, Colorado (Edition expires 11/30/95))

An independent federation of the Leeward Islands in the West Indies, consisting of Saint Christopher, Nevis, and Sombrero. Its capital is Basseterre. It was discovered by Columbus in 1493, settled by the British in 1625, the first of the Leeward Islands to be colonized by them. It was held jointly by the French and English 1628-1713, but returned to Great Britain by the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713. It was held by the French 1782-83.
