Summary of "Expression of TREM-2 and its inhibitory effects on TNF-α induced inflammation in fibroblast-like synoviocytes via inhibiting p38 pathway activation."

It is not clear whether TREM-2 (the "triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2") is expressed in fibroblast-like synovial cells (FLSs). In this study, we aimed to determine the expression of TREM-2 in rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-FLSs and explore whether and how TREM-2 modulates the function of RA-FLSs.

Vitamin D suppresses macrophage infiltration by down-regulation of TREM-1 in diabetic nephropathy rats.

This study intends to investigate the effect of active vitamin D (VD) on the expression of triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (TREM-1) in the renal tissues of diabetic nephropathy (DN) r...

The protective effects of guggulsterone against colitis are associated with the suppression of TREM-1 and modulation of macrophages.

Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM-1)-expressing intestinal macrophages are significantly increased in the colons of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We focused here...

Non-parenchymal TREM-2 protects the liver from immune-mediated hepatocellular damage.

Liver injury impacts hepatic inflammation in part via Toll-like receptor (TLR) signalling. Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM-2) modulates TLR4-mediated inflammation in bone marrow...

Effect of Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid Cells 1 (TREM-1) Blockade in Rats with Cecal Ligation and Puncture (CLP)-Induced Sepsis.

BACKGROUND Blocking of TREM-1 signaling improves survival of mice with sepsis induced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. However, whether TREM-1 blockade has beneficial effects in polymicrobial sepsis is poor...

Activation and Regulation of Blood Vδ2 T Cells Are Amplified by TREM-1+ during Active Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM-1) is a receptor mainly expressed on myeloid cells, and it plays an important role in modulating immune response against infectious agents. The f...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A fibroblast growth factor that preferentially activates FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR 4. It was initially identified as an androgen-induced growth factor and plays a role in regulating growth of human BREAST NEOPLASMS and PROSTATIC NEOPLASMS.

A fibroblast growth factor receptor that is found in two isoforms. One receptor isoform is found in the MESENCHYME and is activated by FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTOR 2. A second isoform of fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 is found mainly in EPITHELIAL CELLS and is activated by FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTOR 7 and FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTOR 10. Mutation of the gene for fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 can result in APERT SYNDROME.

The most divergent of the known fibroblast growth factor receptors. It does not contain an intracellular TYROSINE KINASE domain and has been shown to interact with FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTOR 2. Fibroblast growth factor receptor 5 is found primarily in skeletal tissue.

A fibroblast growth factor receptor with specificity for FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTORS; HEPARAN SULFATE PROTEOGLYCAN; and NEURONAL CELL ADHESION MOLECULES. Several variants of the receptor exist due to multiple ALTERNATIVE SPLICING of its mRNA. Fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 is a tyrosine kinase that transmits signals through the MAP KINASE SIGNALING SYSTEM.

An INTERLEUKIN-6 related cytokine that exhibits pleiotrophic effects on many physiological systems that involve cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Leukemia inhibitory factor binds to and acts through the lif receptor.
