Docetaxel is standard first-line chemotherapy for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate carcinoma (mCRPC). Docetaxel re-challenge has never been tested in a prospective randomised controlled study. As some studies support the addition of carboplatin to docetaxel, we performed a phase II trial investigating the combination of docetaxel plus carboplatin versus docetaxel re-treatment in docetaxel pre-treated mCRPC patients.

UCBG 2-08: 5-year efficacy results from the UNICANCER-PACS08 randomised phase III trial of adjuvant treatment with FEC100 and then either docetaxel or ixabepilone in patients with early-stage, poor prognosis breast cancer.
UNICANCER-PACS08 compared adjuvant FEC (5-FU; epirubicin; cyclophosphamide) then docetaxel to FEC then ixabepilone in poor prognosis early breast cancer (BC). We evaluated whether replacing docetaxel ...
Docetaxel improves survival in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (PC). This randomized phase II trial aimed to assess the activity of weekly docetaxel with radiotherapy (RT) plus androgen depri...
Docetaxel is one of the most effective anticancer drugs. However, the current formulation of docetaxel contains Tween 80 and ethanol as the solvent, which can cause severe side effects. Consequently, ...
The synergistic effects of docetaxel (DTX) combined with carboplatin in the treatment of retinoblastoma (RB) was explored in mouse RB xenografts compared with carboplatin alone and DTX alone groups. R...
A new method for the determination of total and released docetaxel from docetaxel-entrapped core-crosslinked polymeric micelles (CriPec®) by LC-MS/MS and its clinical application in plasma and tissues in patients with various tumours.
A sensitive, high-performance liquid chromatographic method was developed and validated, for determination of docetaxel from docetaxel-entrapped core-crosslinked polymeric micelles (CriPec®) in human...
This trial will compare the efficacy of docetaxel/carboplatin versus docetaxel/liposomal doxorubicin in pretreated patients with advanced ovarian carcinoma and treatment free-interval of a...
Multicenter randomized phase II trial is to examine the safety and efficacy of carboplatin, docetaxel, bevacizumab followed by maintenance bevacizumab and erlotinib in patients with comple...
The purpose of this study is to look at the effects (good and bad) of the combination of docetaxel and carboplatin for patients who have progressive prostate cancer after chemotherapy with...
This trial will compare the effectiveness of Docetaxel with or without Carboplatin as second line chemotherapy in patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, who have not been treated previo...
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from div...
Work that is a report of a pre-planned, usually controlled, clinical study of the safety and efficacy of diagnostic, therapeutic, or prophylactic drugs, devices, or techniques after phase II trials. A large enough group of patients is studied and closely monitored by physicians for adverse response to long-term exposure, over a period of about three years in either the United States or a foreign country.
The interval between two successive CELL DIVISIONS during which the CHROMOSOMES are not individually distinguishable. It is composed of the G phases (G1 PHASE; G0 PHASE; G2 PHASE) and S PHASE (when DNA replication occurs).
Trial that aims to show a new treatment is no better and no worse than the standard treatment.
Functionalization of exogenous substances to prepare them for conjugation in PHASE II DETOXIFICATION. Phase I enzymes include CYTOCHROME P450 enzymes and some OXIDOREDUCTASES. Excess induction of phase I over phase II detoxification leads to higher levels of FREE RADICALS that can induce CANCER and other cell damage. Induction or antagonism of phase I detoxication is the basis of a number of DRUG INTERACTIONS.
The period of the CELL CYCLE following DNA synthesis (S PHASE) and preceding M PHASE (cell division phase). The CHROMOSOMES are tetraploid in this point.
In a clinical trial or interventional study, participants receive specific interventions according to the research plan or protocol created by the investigators. These interventions may be medical products, such as drugs or devices; procedures; or change...
