Summary of "Prediction of the Development of Persistent Massive Ascites after Living Donor Liver Transplantation Using a Perioperative Risk Score."

Persistent massive ascites (PMAS) >14 days after living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) is not uncommon and associated with worse outcome. A predictive risk scoring system was constructed after analysis of recipient, graft and surgery related factors.

Validation of the Living Kidney Donor Profile Index in a European cohort and comparison of long-term outcomes with US results.

Recently, a risk index for living donor kidney (LDK) transplantation [living kidney donor profile index (LKDPI)] was proposed to compare LDKs with each other and with deceased donor kidneys (DDKs). Un...

Predicting the time of OVULATION can be achieved by measuring the preovulatory elevation of ESTRADIOL; LUTEINIZING HORMONE or other hormones in BLOOD or URINE. Accuracy of ovulation prediction depends on the completeness of the hormone profiles, and the ability to determine the preovulatory LH peak.

Physiologic methyl radical donor involved in enzymatic transmethylation reactions and present in all living organisms. It possesses anti-inflammatory activity and has been used in treatment of chronic liver disease. (From Merck, 11th ed)

A mismatch between donor and recipient blood. Antibodies present in the recipient's serum are directed against antigens in the donor product. Such a mismatch may result in a transfusion reaction in which, for example, donor blood is hemolyzed. (From Saunders Dictionary & Encyclopedia of Laboratory Medicine and Technology, 1984)

The transfer of lymphocytes from a donor to a recipient or reinfusion to the donor.
