One of the major problems in breast cancer treatment is pharmacoresistance. Therefore, exploration of treatment alternatives is of clinical relevance. The present work focused on tumor cell-inhibiting effects of a combination of tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) and all trans retinoic acid (ATRA) in breast cancer cells.

TRAIL, a promising antitumor immuno-agent, exerted limited efficacy in clinical trials. The third disulfide loop of TGF-α (TGF3L peptide) with a very low affinity for EGFR has been reported to enhanc...
Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) holds promising value for cancer therapy due to its capacity to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Nevertheless, TRAIL therapy is greatly...
Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a potential anti-cancer agent due to its selective toxicity. However, many human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells are partial...
Garcinol is a polyisoprenylated benzophenone derived from the fruit that possess potential therapeutic effects such as inhibition of inflammation and tumor expansion. Here, we investigated whether ga...
Autophagy contributes to the treatment-resistance of many types of cancers, and chloroquine (CQ) inhibits autophagy. The tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) kills can...
The purpose of this study is to find out the highest tolerated dose of Depakote in combination with liposome encapsulated all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA-IV) in patients with advanced solid ...
A Study of Type-1 Polarized Dendritic Cell (αDC1) Vaccine in Combination With Tumor-Selective Chemokine Modulation (Interferon-α2b, Rintatolimod, and Celecoxib) in Subjects With Chemo-Refractory Metastatic Colorectal Cancer
The investigators hypothesize that the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients with the combination of alpha-type-1-polarized dendritic cell (αDC1) vaccines and tumor-se...
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability associated with the combination of ATRA/celecoxib/itraconazole as maintenance therapy given after an autologous stem ce...
This is a Phase 1 open label study of the dose and duration of an orally administered LSD1 inhibitor, IMG-7289, in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (...
Chemoradiotherapy has become the standard of care for women with locally advanced cervical cancer. The available data support a 30 to 50% reduction in the risk of death from cervical cance...
A B7 antigen subtype that inhibits the costimulation of T-cell activation, proliferation, cytokine production and development of cytotoxicity. The over expression of this protein in a variety of tumor cell types suggests its role in TUMOR IMMUNE EVASION.
Tumor-selective, replication competent VIRUSES that have antineoplastic effects. This is achieved by producing cytotoxicity-enhancing proteins and/or eliciting an antitumor immune response. They are genetically engineered so that they can replicate in CANCER cells but not in normal cells, and are used in ONCOLYTIC VIROTHERAPY.
A subclass of natural killer cell receptors that perform an important role in the recognition of tumor cells by NK CELLS.
Possesses an unusual and selective cytotoxicity for VASCULAR SMOOTH MUSCLE cells in dogs and rats. Useful for experiments dealing with arterial injury, myocardial fibrosis or cardiac decompensation.
The phenomenon of antibody-mediated target cell destruction by non-sensitized effector cells. The identity of the target cell varies, but it must possess surface IMMUNOGLOBULIN G whose Fc portion is intact. The effector cell is a "killer" cell possessing Fc receptors. It may be a lymphocyte lacking conventional B- or T-cell markers, or a monocyte, macrophage, or polynuclear leukocyte, depending on the identity of the target cell. The reaction is complement-independent.
