Chronic pancreatitis with multiple pseudocysts and pancreatic panniculitis: A case report.

Pancreatic pseudocyst can present single or multiple, inside or outside the pancreas. Pancreatic panniculitis is a rare skin lesion in pancreatic disease patients. The purpose of this study is to repo...

Panniculitis, pancreatitis, and polyarthritis: a rare clinical syndrome.

A rare triad composed of lobular panniculitis in the setting of pancreatitis and polyarthritis is termed panniculitis, pancreatitis, and polyarthritis (PPP) syndrome. Pancreatic panniculitis is a rare...

Subcutaneous Panniculitis-Like T-Cell Lymphoma Versus Lupus Erythematosus Panniculitis: Distinction by Means of the Periadipocytic Cell Proliferation Index.

The distinction between subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTCL) and lupus erythematosus (LE) panniculitis is remarkably challenging. Rimming by lymphocytes with an elevated Ki-67 cell p...

Per-Pass Performance Characteristics of Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Fine-Needle Aspiration of Malignant Solid Pancreatic Masses in a Large Multicenter Cohort.

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is widely performed for the evaluation of pancreatic masses. We evaluated the performance characteristics of EUS-FNA in obtaining a diagno...

Mesenteric Panniculitis.

Mesenteric panniculitis is a rare, benign, and chronic fibrosing inflammatory disease that affects the adipose tissue of the small intestine and colon.

Mesenteric Panniculitis : Review of Consecutive Abdominal MDCT Examinations With a Matched-pair Analysis

Mesenteric panniculitis is a benign inflammatory condition that involves the adipose tissue of the intestinal mesentery. Clinical manifestations are uncommon, non specific and atypical. Me...

Ultrasound Elastography for Prediction of Postoperative Pancreatic Fistula

The purpose of this study is to assess the value of preoperative objective modalities such as endoscopic ultrasound elastography and magnet resonance imaging in predicting development of p...

The study is a prospective, observational, case-control study evaluating the utility of endoscopic ultrasound for the identification of preneoplastic and neoplastic pancreatic lesions in p...

Endoscopic Ultrasound Elastography in Pancreatic Masses

The aim of the study is to assess elastography during EUS examinations of focal pancreatic masses, and to consequently differentiate benign versus malignant pancreatic masses in a prospect...

Endoscopic Ultrasound-guided Drainage of Pancreatic Pseudocysts

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) and traditional plastic stent on the drainage of pancreatic pseudocyst, mainly to observe the cyst r...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A form of panniculitis characterized by recurrent episodes of fever accompanied by the eruption of single or multiple erythematous subcutaneous nodules on the lower extremities. They normally resolve, but tend to leave depressions in the skin. The condition is most often seen in women, alone or in association with other disorders.

A 36-amino acid pancreatic hormone that is secreted mainly by endocrine cells found at the periphery of the ISLETS OF LANGERHANS and adjacent to cells containing SOMATOSTATIN and GLUCAGON. Pancreatic polypeptide (PP), when administered peripherally, can suppress gastric secretion, gastric emptying, pancreatic enzyme secretion, and appetite. A lack of pancreatic polypeptide (PP) has been associated with OBESITY in rats and mice.

Extracts prepared from pancreatic tissue that may contain the pancreatic enzymes or other specific uncharacterized factors or proteins with specific activities. PANCREATIN is a specific extract containing digestive enzymes and used to treat pancreatic insufficiency.

The use of ultrasound to guide minimally invasive surgical procedures such as needle ASPIRATION BIOPSY; DRAINAGE; etc. Its widest application is intravascular ultrasound imaging but it is useful also in urology and intra-abdominal conditions.

A pancreatic trypsin inhibitor common to all mammals. It is secreted with the zymogens into the pancreatic juice. It is a protein composed of 56 amino acid residues and is different in amino acid composition and physiological activity from the Kunitz bovine pancreatic trypsin inhibitor (APROTININ).
