Characteristics and outcome for heart failure patients with mid-range ejection fraction.

The aim of this study was to compare precipitants, presenting symptoms and outcomes of patients with heart failure and mid-range ejection fraction (HFmrEF), heart failure and preserved ejection fracti...

Characteristics and long-term prognosis of patients with heart failure and mid-range ejection fraction compared with reduced and preserved ejection fraction: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

This study aimed to assess by a meta-analysis the clinical characteristics, all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, and hospitalization of patients with heart failure (HF) with mid-range ejection frac...

Relation of the Ankle Brachial Index to Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction in Patients Without Coronary Artery Disease.

The low ankle brachial index (ABI) values are indicative of peripheral arterial disease, but have recently been found to be associated with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). This may ...

Left atrial volume index is critical for the diagnosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is now well recognized but the identification of patients with HFpEF can be challenging. We aimed to evaluate the performance of tissue Doppler i...

Impact of low stroke volume on mortality in patients with severe aortic stenosis and preserved left ventricular ejection fraction.

In patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), low flow (LF) is currently defined using Doppler-echocardiography by a stroke volume index (SVi)

Clinical Trials [2377 Associated Clinical Trials listed on BioPortfolio]

Circulating NEP and NEP Inhibition Study in Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction

To determine biomarker responses to Entresto™in patients with Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) and who have high or low serum neprilysin (NEP) levels.

Study of Efficacy and Safety of LCZ696 in Japanese Patients With Chronic Heart Failure and Reduced Ejection Fraction

The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of LCZ696 at a target dose of 200 mg b.i.d. compared to enalapril 10 mg b.i.d., in addition to the background heart failure (HF) treatment...

Study of Effects of Sacubitril/Valsartan vs. Enalapril on Aortic Stiffness in Patients With Mild to Moderate HF With Reduced Ejection Fraction

To determine whether treatment with sacubitril/valsartan provides a superior effect on aortic characteristic impedance compared to enalapril in patients with heart failure and reduced ejec...

Empagliflozin in Heart Failure Patients With Reduced Ejection Fraction

To assess the effect of Empagliflozin on cardiac biomarkers, cardiac function at rest and during stress, cardiac hemodynamics, renal function, metabolism, daily activity level and health-r...

Biorepository Studying the Relationship Between Biomarkers and Heart Failure

This study aims to prospectively evaluate the relationship between serial measurement of several biomarkers, such as insulin-like growth factor binding protein 7 (IGFBP7), bone morphogenic...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A motility disorder characterized by biliary COLIC, absence of GALLSTONES, and an abnormal GALLBLADDER ejection fraction. It is caused by gallbladder dyskinesia and/or SPHINCTER OF ODDI DYSFUNCTION.

A condition in which the RIGHT VENTRICLE of the heart was functionally impaired. This condition usually leads to HEART FAILURE or MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION, and other cardiovascular complications. Diagnosis is made by measuring the diminished ejection fraction and a depressed level of motility of the right ventricular wall.

A condition in which the LEFT VENTRICLE of the heart was functionally impaired. This condition usually leads to HEART FAILURE; MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION; and other cardiovascular complications. Diagnosis is made by measuring the diminished ejection fraction and a depressed level of motility of the left ventricular wall.

A heparin fraction with a mean molecular weight of 4500 daltons. It is isolated from porcine mucosal heparin and used as an antithrombotic agent. (From Merck Index, 11th ed)

A lipid-regulating agent that lowers elevated serum lipids primarily by decreasing serum triglycerides with a variable reduction in total cholesterol. These decreases occur primarily in the VLDL fraction and less frequently in the LDL fraction. Gemfibrozil increases HDL subfractions HDL2 and HDL3 as well as apolipoproteins A-I and A-II. Its mechanism of action has not been definitely established.
