Summary of "The Diagnostic Accuracy of Cytology for the Diagnosis of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Cancers."

Although cytology testing is considered a valuable method to diagnose tumors that are difficult to access such as hepato-biliary-pancreatic (HBP) malignancies, its diagnostic accuracy remains unclear. We therefore aimed to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of cytology testing for HBP tumors.

SurePath liquid-based cytology improves the diagnostic accuracy of intrahepatic and hilar cholangiocarcinoma.

The current study aimed to compare cytology using SurePath liquid-based cytology (SP-LBC) and biliary tissue histology (BTH) for the diagnosis of biliary disease.

A Case of Pancreatic Carcinoma in situ Diagnosed by Repeated Pancreatic Juice Cytology.

Repeated pancreatic juice cytology via endoscopic nasopancreatic drainage (ENPD) has a high diagnostic yield and might be useful for the diagnosis of early-stage pancreatic cancer. A 67-year-old man p...

Liquid-based cytology versus conventional cytology for detection of uterine cervical lesions: a prospective observational study.

Liquid-based cytology (LBC) and conventional cytology (CS) are routine diagnostic techniques in cervical cytology, but few studies have compared their diagnostic performances with each other and with ...

Feasibility and safety of micro-forceps biopsy in the diagnosis of pancreatic cysts.

The tissue acquisition and diagnostic yield of cyst fluid cytology is low-to-moderate and rarely provides a specific diagnosis. The aim of this study was to compare the tissue acquisition and diagnost...

Highly Accurate Identification of Cystic Precursor Lesions of Pancreatic Cancer Through Targeted Mass Spectrometry: A Phase IIc Diagnostic Study.

Purpose Pancreatic cystic lesions are common incidental findings on imaging, but up to half may be forerunners of pancreatic cancer. Therefore, accurate differential diagnosis is crucial for correct p...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Carcinoma that arises from the PANCREATIC DUCTS. It accounts for the majority of cancers derived from the PANCREAS.

Any diagnostic evaluation using radioactive (unstable) isotopes. This diagnosis includes many nuclear medicine procedures as well as radioimmunoassay tests.

Combinations of diagnostic or therapeutic substances linked with specific immune substances such as IMMUNOGLOBULINS; MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES; or ANTIGENS. Often the diagnostic or therapeutic substance is a radionuclide. These conjugates are useful tools for specific targeting of DRUGS and RADIOISOTOPES in the CHEMOTHERAPY and RADIOIMMUNOTHERAPY of certain cancers.

A specific decapeptide obtained from the skin of Hila caerulea, an Australian amphibian. Caerulein is similar in action and composition to CHOLECYSTOKININ. It stimulates gastric, biliary, and pancreatic secretion; and certain smooth muscle. It is used in paralytic ileus and as diagnostic aid in pancreatic malfunction.
