The presence of inducible atrial tachyarrhythmia after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) during radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) for persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) may indicate the necessity of further substrate modification, but the optimal ablation endpoint is unknown. We sought to assess the impact of procedural termination of inducible atrial tachyarrhythmia after PVI in comparison with continued atrial tachyarrhythmia after PVI.

The aim of this study was to study the risk of death and development of arrhythmia and/or subsequently heart failure after an atrial flutter ablation procedure compared with an atrial fibrillation (AF...
Several clinical scoring systems have been derived to predict the arrhythmia outcome of catheter ablation (CA) for atrial fibrillation (AF) but which is better is not clear. Simple clinical risk score...
Reverse left ventricular structural remodeling following catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation in patients with preserved left ventricular function: Insights from cardiovascular magnetic resonance native T1 mapping.
Catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) improves left ventricular (LV) function in patients with LV systolic dysfunction, suggestive of underlying arrhythmia-induced adverse remodeling.
The treatment effect of the hybrid procedure, consisting of a thoracoscopic ablation followed by an endocardial radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA), is unclear. A total of 117 ablation-naïve pati...
Unlike catheter ablation, little is known about the benefits of cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI) ablation in total thoracoscopic ablation (TTA) of atrial fibrillation (AF). This study aimed to investigate ...
This study will evaluate the feasibility of visualization and characterization of arrhythmia ablation lesions by MRI immediately following standard ablation techniques. The appearance of t...
Patients with myocardial infarction related potential malignant ventricular arrhythmia have high risk of sudden death. The aim of this clinical trial is evaluating therapeutic efficacy of ...
This study is performed to assess if PET-MR imaging can improve treatment of patients with irregular heart rate and heart failure. Heart failure occurs when the heart muscle is too weak to...

Patents with atrial fibrillation can be treated with the purpose of curing the arrhythmia. This may be achieved by catheter ablation and Maze surgery where the latter includes open heart su...
A potent anti-arrhythmia agent, effective in a wide range of ventricular and atrial arrhythmias and tachycardias. Paradoxically, however, in myocardial infarct patients with either symptomatic or asymptomatic arrhythmia, flecainide exacerbates the arrhythmia and is not recommended for use in these patients.
A type of cardiac arrhythmia with premature atrial contractions or beats caused by signals originating from ectopic atrial sites. The ectopic signals may or may not conduct to the HEART VENTRICLES. Atrial premature complexes are characterized by premature P waves on ECG which are different in configuration from the P waves generated by the normal pacemaker complex in the SINOATRIAL NODE.
Artificially induced UTERINE CONTRACTION. Generally, LABOR, OBSTETRIC is induced with the intent to cause delivery of the fetus and termination of pregnancy.
Rapid, irregular atrial contractions caused by a block of electrical impulse conduction in the right atrium and a reentrant wave front traveling up the inter-atrial septum and down the right atrial free wall or vice versa. Unlike ATRIAL FIBRILLATION which is caused by abnormal impulse generation, typical atrial flutter is caused by abnormal impulse conduction. As in atrial fibrillation, patients with atrial flutter cannot effectively pump blood into the lower chambers of the heart (HEART VENTRICLES).
A process of GENETIC TRANSLATION whereby the last amino acid is added to a lengthening polypeptide. This termination is signaled from the MESSENGER RNA, by one of three termination codons (CODON, TERMINATOR) that immediately follows the last amino acid-specifying CODON.
