Proteomic Profiling of Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia Identifies Two Protein Signatures Associated with Relapse.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is the most prognostically favorable subtype of AML. Defining the features that allow identification of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) patients likely to relapse...

Multiple acute ischemic strokes as the onset manifestation of acute promyelocytic leukemia.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia often manifests with hemorrhagic diathesis, thrombotic events being much rarer. This is the case of a 59-year-old patient with thrombotic cerebro-vascular complications as...

The CD9 CD11b HLA-DR immunophenotype can be used to diagnose acute promyelocytic leukemia.

To investigate the immunophenotypic characteristics of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and explore the sensitivity and specificity of various antibody combinations for the timely and accurate diagn...

Prognostic nomogram for acute pancreatitis patients: An analysis of publicly electronic healthcare records in intensive care unit.

The mortality rate of severe acute pancreatitis (AP) is 20-30% even after admission to intensive care unit (ICU). Thus we aimed to develop a laboratory-based nomogram to identify AP patients at high r...

Acute Kidney Injury in Chinese HIV-Infected Patients: A Retrospective Analysis from the Intensive Care Unit.

To describe the epidemiology, outcomes, and risk factors of acute kidney injury (AKI) among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).We reviewed a...

Simplified Patient Care Strategy in Decreasing Early Death in Patients With Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia

This clinical trial studies how well simplified patient care strategy works in decreasing early death in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Implementing simplified acute promyeloc...

Diagnostic Study of Patients With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia

RATIONALE: Determination of genetic markers for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute promyelocytic leukemia may help identify patients with this disease and help predict the outcome of t...

Biomarkers in Bone Marrow Samples From Patients With Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia

RATIONALE: Studying samples of bone marrow from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and about biomarkers related to cancer. ...

Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Young Patients With Newly Diagnosed Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia

This phase III trial is studying combination chemotherapy to see how well it works in treating young patients with newly diagnosed acute promyelocytic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy ...

Tretinoin and Arsenic Trioxide in Treating Patients With Untreated Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia

This phase III trial studies tretinoin and arsenic trioxide in treating patients with newly diagnosed acute promyelocytic leukemia. Standard treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia invo...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

The hospital unit in which patients with acute cardiac disorders receive intensive care.

An acute myeloid leukemia in which abnormal PROMYELOCYTES predominate. It is frequently associated with DISSEMINATED INTRAVASCULAR COAGULATION.

A tripartite motif protein that contains three ZINC FINGERS, including a RING FINGER DOMAIN, at its N-terminal. Several nuclear and one cytoplasmic isoforms result from alternative splicing of the PML gene; most nuclear isoforms localize to subnuclear structures (PML nuclear bodies) that are disrupted in ACUTE PROMYELOCYTIC LEUKEMIA cells.

An important regulator of GENE EXPRESSION during growth and development, and in NEOPLASMS. Tretinoin, also known as retinoic acid and derived from maternal VITAMIN A, is essential for normal GROWTH; and EMBRYONIC DEVELOPMENT. An excess of tretinoin can be teratogenic. It is used in the treatment of PSORIASIS; ACNE VULGARIS; and several other SKIN DISEASES. It has also been approved for use in promyelocytic leukemia (LEUKEMIA, PROMYELOCYTIC, ACUTE).

A Krupple-type transcription factor consisting of an N-terminal BTB DOMAIN and nine CYS2-HIS2 ZINC FINGERS. It localizes to the nucleus and regulates cell cycle progression and gene expression for tissue development and homeostasis; it may also function as an epigenetic regulator through its interactions with HISTONE DEACETYLASE. Genetic rearrangements involving the ZBTB16 gene are associated with ACUTE PROMYELOCYTIC LEUKEMIA.
