Synthesis of Biotin-Modified Galactosylated Chitosan Nanoparticles and Their Characteristics in Vitro and in Vivo.

Summary of "Synthesis of Biotin-Modified Galactosylated Chitosan Nanoparticles and Their Characteristics in Vitro and in Vivo."

Our previous study found that a nanoparticle drug delivery system that operates as a drug carrier and controlled release system not only improves the efficacy of the drugs but also reduces their side effects. However, this system could not efficiently target hepatoma cells. The aim of this study was to synthesize biotin-modified galactosylated chitosan nanoparticles (Bio-GC) and evaluate their characteristics in vitro and in vivo.

Orally targeted galactosylated chitosan poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles loaded with TNF-ɑ siRNA provide a novel strategy for the experimental treatment of ulcerative colitis.

The current treatments used in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) therapy have significant side effects. Thus, it is very necessary to position and release TNF-α siRNA in inflamed tissues. Here, we dem...

Development of multifunctional linen fabric using chitosan film as a template for immobilization of in-situ generated CeO nanoparticles.

Linen fabric lacks functional properties which can be imparted using CeO nanoparticles; however, the efficiency and durability against the repeated washing is always a big limitation. Wash-durable fun...

Fatty acid and quaternary ammonium modified chitosan nanoparticles for insulin delivery.

Liver is the major organ where insulin performs its physiological function. In this study, lauric acid and oleic acid were respectively conjugated to quaternized chitosan, and the fatty acid modified ...

Preparation, characterization and in vitro release study of β-cyclodextrin/chitosan nanoparticles loaded Cinnamomum zeylanicum essential oil.

Cinnamomum zeylanicum essential oil (CEO) is an effective antimicrobial agent. However, its high volatile nature and low stability require an efficient encapsulation system for drug delivery applicati...

Evaluation of the mucoadhesive properties of chitosan nanoparticles prepared using different chitosan to tripolyphosphate (CS:TPP) ratios.

Mucoadhesive molecules such as chitosan, can allow targeting of a particular tissue to prolong residence time and subsequently improve bioavailability. The purpose of this study was to investigate chi...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Nanometer-sized particles that are nanoscale in three dimensions. They include nanocrystaline materials; NANOCAPSULES; METAL NANOPARTICLES; DENDRIMERS, and QUANTUM DOTS. The uses of nanoparticles include DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS and cancer targeting and imaging.

A specific protein in egg albumin that interacts with BIOTIN to render it unavailable to mammals, thereby producing biotin deficiency.

Nanoparticles produced from metals whose uses include biosensors, optics, and catalysts. In biomedical applications the particles frequently involve the noble metals, especially gold and silver.

A layer of protein coating adsorbed by NANOPARTICLES upon entry into PLASMA or other protein-containing biological fluids, which affects how nanoparticles are internalized by cells and cleared from the body.

Food derived from genetically modified organisms (ORGANISMS, GENETICALLY MODIFIED).
