Summary of "Pretreatment quantitative F-FDG PET/CT parameters as a predictor of survival in adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary glands."

The aim of this study was to determine the unique prognostic value of quantitative F-FDG PET/CT parameters to assess progression-free survival (PFS), distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS), and overall survival (OS) in patients with salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC).

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Carcinoma characterized by bands or cylinders of hyalinized or mucinous stroma separating or surrounded by nests or cords of small epithelial cells. When the cylinders occur within masses of epithelial cells, they give the tissue a perforated, sievelike, or cribriform appearance. Such tumors occur in the mammary glands, the mucous glands of the upper and lower respiratory tract, and the salivary glands. They are malignant but slow-growing, and tend to spread locally via the nerves. (Dorland, 27th ed)

Locations, on the GENOME, of GENES or other genetic elements that encode or control the expression of a quantitative trait (QUANTITATIVE TRAIT, HERITABLE).

A characteristic showing quantitative inheritance such as SKIN PIGMENTATION in humans. (From A Dictionary of Genetics, 4th ed)

A cystic growth originating from lymphatic tissue. It is usually found in the neck, axilla, or groin.

A condition in which abnormal cells have not spread outside the duct, lobule, or nipple to other tissues of the breast. There are 3 types of breast carcinoma in situ: DUCTAL CARCINOMA IN SITU; LOBULAR CARCINOMA IN SITU; and PAGET DISEASE OF THE NIPPLE
