Surgical site infection (SSI) poses a significant burden to patients and healthcare resources. Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) data identify a higher rate of SSI for lower extremity bypass surgery than other vascular procedures. Bundled interventions have successfully reduced SSI in other surgical procedures.
