Summary of "Pretreatment Hepatitis B Viral Load Predicts Long-term Hepatitis B Response after Anti-hepatitis C Therapy in Hepatitis B/C Dual-infected Patients."

We aimed to investigate the long-term outcomes in hepatitis B (HBV)/hepatitis C (HCV) dual-infected patients after anti-HCV therapy.

A territory-wide prevalence study on blood-borne and enteric viral hepatitis in Hong Kong.

Viral hepatitis epidemiological data is important for the WHO plan of eliminating viral hepatitis. We aimed to document the prevalence of viral hepatitis A to E in Hong Kong.

Hepatitis B assessment without hepatitis B virus DNA quantification: a prospective cohort study in Uganda.

Chronic hepatitis B infection affects 240 million people, with the highest prevalence in Africa and Asia, and results in 700 000 deaths annually. Access to diagnostics, particularly for hepatitis B vi...

Long-term clinical outcomes in patients with viral hepatitis related liver cirrhosis after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt treatment.

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) procedure has played a vital role in management of portal hypertension. Thus, we aimed to investigate the natural history, long-term clinical outco...

The accuracy of baseline viral load for predicting the efficacy of elbasvir/grazoprevir in participants with hepatitis C virus genotype 1a infection: an integrated analysis.

European treatment guidelines for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection recommend that people with genotype (GT)1a infection and baseline viral load ≤800,000 IU/mL receive elbasvir/grazoprevir (EBR/GZR)...

Ten-year off-treatment responses to nucleos(t)ide analogues in chronic hepatitis B patients: varying with pretreatment HBeAg status.

To evaluate the long-term durability of nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs)' efficacy and to explore related factors for virological relapse in a younger cohort of chronic hepatitis B (CHB).

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

INFLAMMATION of the LIVER in humans due to infection by VIRUSES. There are several significant types of human viral hepatitis with infection caused by enteric-transmission (HEPATITIS A; HEPATITIS E) or blood transfusion (HEPATITIS B; HEPATITIS C; and HEPATITIS D).

INFLAMMATION of the LIVER in humans caused by HEPATITIS DELTA VIRUS, a defective RNA virus that can only infect HEPATITIS B patients. For its viral coating, hepatitis delta virus requires the HEPATITIS B SURFACE ANTIGENS produced by these patients. Hepatitis D can occur either concomitantly with (coinfection) or subsequent to (superinfection) hepatitis B infection. Similar to hepatitis B, it is primarily transmitted by parenteral exposure, such as transfusion of contaminated blood or blood products, but can also be transmitted via sexual or intimate personal contact.

A family of hepatotropic DNA viruses which contains double-stranded DNA genomes and causes hepatitis in humans and animals. There are two genera: AVIHEPADNAVIRUS and ORTHOHEPADNAVIRUS. Hepadnaviruses include HEPATITIS B VIRUS, duck hepatitis B virus (HEPATITIS B VIRUS, DUCK), heron hepatitis B virus, ground squirrel hepatitis virus, and woodchuck hepatitis B virus (HEPATITIS B VIRUS, WOODCHUCK).

Immunoglobulins raised by any form of viral hepatitis; some of these antibodies are used to diagnose the specific kind of hepatitis.

A species in the genus HEPATOVIRUS containing one serotype and two strains: HUMAN HEPATITIS A VIRUS and Simian hepatitis A virus causing hepatitis in humans (HEPATITIS A) and primates, respectively.
