The survival advantage of induction chemotherapy (IC) followed by locoregional treatment is controversial in locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (LAHNSCC). We previously showed feasibility and safety of cetuximab-based IC (paclitaxel/carboplatin/cetuximab-PCC, and docetaxel/cisplatin/5-fluorouracil/cetuximab-C-TPF) followed by local therapy in LAHNSCC. The primary endpoint of this phase II clinical trial with randomization to PCC and C-TPF followed by combined local therapy in patients with LAHNSCC stratified by human papillomavirus (HPV) status and T-stage was two-year progression free survival (PFS) compared to historical control.

Sequential therapy of neoadjuvant biochemotherapy with cetuximab, paclitaxel, and cisplatin followed by cetuximab-based concurrent bioradiotherapy in high-risk locally advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma: Final analysis of a phase 2 clinical trial.
The prognosis of advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma is poor. We investigated the effect of cetuximab-based sequential therapy as a primary treatment.
This study evaluates maintenance cetuximab administered every 2 weeks (q2w) after chemotherapy plus cetuximab as first-line treatment in a series of patients with head and neck squamous cell cancer an...
The addition of cisplatin or cetuximab to radiation therapy (RT) improves outcomes in comparison with RT alone in the nonoperative management of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), but limi...
Cisplatin and cetuximab are both systemic therapies commonly used in combination with radiation (RT) for the definitive treatment of head and neck cancers, but their comparative efficacy is unclear.
The carboplatin/paclitaxel doublet remains the chemotherapy backbone for the initial treatment of ovarian cancer. This two-drug regimen, with carboplatin dosed using the Calvert formula, yielded convi...
Paclitaxel, Carboplatin and Cetuximab (PCC) Versus Cetuximab, Docetaxel, Cisplatin and Fluorouracil (C-TPF) in Previously Untreated Patients With Locally Advanced Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC)
The goal of this clinical research study is to learn which chemotherapy combination is more effective in treating locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The side effects ...
This study will begin with a 30 patients lead-in part: these 30 patients will receive Cetuximab manufactured by ImClone on a weekly basis in combination with other chemotherapy drugs (Cisp...
Docetaxel and cetuximab are FDA approved for the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Cisplatin and carboplatin, while not FDA approved for Squamous Cell Carcinoma of...
The DeLOS II trial is a multicenter randomised phase II trial investigating a TP/5-Fluorouracil (TPF)-chemotherapy with or without cetuximab for Patients with only by laryngectomy operable...
The purpose of this study is to determine if the addition of a unique targeted agent called Cetuximab (also known as "C225" and "Erbitux") can increase the effectiveness of standard treatm...
A chimeric monoclonal antibody that functions as an ANTINEOPLASTIC AGENT through its binding to the EPIDERMAL GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR, where it prevents the binding and signaling action of cell growth and survival factors.
An inorganic and water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts with DNA to produce both intra and interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity of cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in the G2 phase of the cell cycle.
An injectable formulation of albumin-bound paclitaxel NANOPARTICLES.
An organoplatinum compound that possesses antineoplastic activity.
A cyclodecane isolated from the bark of the Pacific yew tree, TAXUS BREVIFOLIA. It stabilizes MICROTUBULES in their polymerized form leading to cell death.
There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. Basal cell carcinoma Basal cell carcinoma, or BCC, is a cancer of the basal cells at the bottom of the epidermis. It’s very common ...
