Summary of "Potential of a statistical approach for the standardization of multicenter diffusion tensor data: A phantom study."

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) parameters, such as fractional anisotropy (FA), allow examining the structural integrity of the brain. However, the true value of these parameters may be confounded by variability in MR hardware, acquisition parameters, and image quality.

Diffusion tensor distribution imaging.

Conventional diffusion MRI yields voxel-averaged parameters that suffer from ambiguities for heterogeneous anisotropic materials such as brain tissue. Using principles from solid-state NMR spectroscop...

Tensor-on-tensor regression.

We propose a framework for the linear prediction of a multi-way array (i.e., a tensor) from another multi-way array of arbitrary dimension, using the contracted tensor product. This framework generali...

Test-retest reliability of Diffusion Tensor Imaging metrics in neonates.

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has been widely used in children and adults to study the microstructural features of the brain. Its use in neonate brains has been limited. Neonate brains are almost com...

Diffusion tensor imaging and fiber tractography reveal significant micro-structural changes of cervical nerve roots in cervical spondylotic radiculopathy patients.

We sought to delineate the fractional anisotropy (FA) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy patients by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and fiber bundle ...

Ventricular volumetry and free-water corrected diffusion tensor imaging of the anterior thalamic radiation in idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus.

The pathophysiology of idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) has not been completely clarified. We investigated the brain structure in iNPH using automatic ventricular volumetry, single-tens...

Diffusion Tensor Imaging in Predicting Development of Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Patients With Breast Cancer (CIPN)

This pilot early phase I trial studies how well diffusion tensor imaging works in predicting development of chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with breast cancer. Diffu...

Diffusion-Tensor Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and the Evaluation of Perinatal Brain Injury

The researchers' objective is to use diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) to evaluate infants diagnosed with cerebral white matter injury during the neonatal period and identify antenatal risk f...

The primary aim of this study is to explore the effect of dimethyl fumarate on gray matter (GM) pathology, as measured by changes in diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) of the thalamus in patie...

Pilot Study of Measurement Agreement Between Morphological and Diffusion Tensor Imaging MRI for Pelvic Nerve Cartography

The investigators hypothesize that diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) will produce a similar map of autonomic pelvic innervation to that obtained using 3D morphological MRI sequences

Determining the Extent of Diffusion Tensor Abnormalities in Focal Cortical Dysplasia

Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is a common finding in epilepsy surgery in pediatric patients. Children with intractable epilepsy would have extensive tests to identify the cause of epilep...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

The use of diffusion ANISOTROPY data from diffusion magnetic resonance imaging results to construct images based on the direction of the faster diffusing molecules.

Statistical formulations or analyses which, when applied to data and found to fit the data, are then used to verify the assumptions and parameters used in the analysis. Examples of statistical models are the linear model, binomial model, polynomial model, two-parameter model, etc.

Application of statistical procedures to analyze specific observed or assumed facts from a particular study.

Systematic gathering of data for a particular purpose from various sources, including questionnaires, interviews, observation, existing records, and electronic devices. The process is usually preliminary to statistical analysis of the data.

Controlled studies which are planned and carried out by several cooperating institutions to assess certain variables and outcomes in specific patient populations, for example, a multicenter study of congenital anomalies in children.
