Summary of "Apparent diffusion coefficient values in differential diagnosis and prognostic prediction of solitary of fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma (WHOII) and atypical meningioma."

It is difficult to distinguish solitary of fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma (SFT/HPC) from atypical meningioma (AM) by conventional imaging. As far as we know, diffusion weighting imaging may identify them effectively.

Apparent diffusion coefficient measurements in normal appearing white matter may support the differential diagnosis between multiple sclerosis lesions and other white matter hyperintensities.

The objectives of the study were to assess the usefulness of measurements of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) in normal appearing white and grey matter (NAWM, NAGM) in differential diagnosis betwe...

Correlation Between Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Values of the Renal Parenchyma and Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rates on 3-T Diffusion-Weighted Echo-Planar Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

To evaluate the relationship between the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of renal parenchyma and estimated glomerular filtration rates (eGFR).

Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) mapping as a quantitative imaging biomarker for prediction of immunohistochemical receptor status, proliferation rate, and molecular subtypes of breast cancer.

Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) mapping is one of the most useful additional MRI parameters to improve diagnostic accuracy and is now often used in a multipa...

Utility of the relative apparent diffusion coefficient for preoperative assessment of low risk endometrial carcinoma.

Lymphadenectomy is not recommended for low risk stage I endometrial carcinoma (EC) patients. This study was to investigate the predictive value of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in predic...

Whole-lesion histogram analysis metrics of the apparent diffusion coefficient: a correlation study with histological grade of hepatocellular carcinoma.

The study evaluated the relationship between the histological grade of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the histogram-derived parameters of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) obtained from the who...

The Use of MRI Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Value (ADC Value) to Assess Liver Cirrhosis

Hepatitis is known to induce severe liver diseases. The evaluation of the severity of liver cirrhosis is very important for the selection of appropriate treatment plan and the monitoring o...

Diffusion MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Using ADC (Apparent Diffusion Coefficient) Histograms in the Evaluation of Adnexal Tumor Aggressiveness

Diffusion-weighted sequences have been routinely performed for years to study the pelvis. They have been so far mainly qualitatively interpreted, that is to say as the absence or presence ...

Determine if Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) Values Can Differentiate Tumors From Normal Tissue

The purpose of this study is to determine normal measurements (ADC values) from the head and neck of healthy volunteers using 3T MRI.

PUMA (Paediatric Osseous Marrow Assessment)

This is a pilot cancer imaging study investigating change in the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) at a single time point post-transplantation in patients. The treatment is bone marrow ...

The Value of Diagnosis and Outcome Prediction in CTC for Metastatic NPC Patients

A circulating tumor cell (CTC) count is an established prognostic factor in some malignancies such as metastatic breast cancer. However, the value of CTC in diagnosis and outcome predictio...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A diagnostic technique that incorporates the measurement of molecular diffusion (such as water or metabolites) for tissue assessment by MRI. The degree of molecular movement can be measured by changes of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) with time, as reflected by tissue microstructure. Diffusion MRI has been used to study BRAIN ISCHEMIA and tumor response to treatment.

The use of diffusion ANISOTROPY data from diffusion magnetic resonance imaging results to construct images based on the direction of the faster diffusing molecules.

A method used to study the lateral movement of MEMBRANE PROTEINS and LIPIDS. A small area of a cell membrane is bleached by laser light and the amount of time necessary for unbleached fluorescent marker-tagged proteins to diffuse back into the bleached site is a measurement of the cell membrane's fluidity. The diffusion coefficient of a protein or lipid in the membrane can be calculated from the data. (From Segen, Current Med Talk, 1995).

The tendency of a gas or solute to pass from a point of higher pressure or concentration to a point of lower pressure or concentration and to distribute itself throughout the available space. Diffusion, especially FACILITATED DIFFUSION, is a major mechanism of BIOLOGICAL TRANSPORT.

The complete summaries of the frequencies of the values or categories of a measurement made on a group of items, a population, or other collection of data. The distribution tells either how many or what proportion of the group was found to have each value (or each range of values) out of all the possible values that the quantitative measure can have.
