The paper presents the comparative use of algorithms to identify the causes of deficiency of coagulation factors in patients with a prolonged APTT, including the definition of the index of circulating anticoagulant (ICA) and the factor-parallelism (FP) method. The results obtained in children with hereditary hemophilia and adults with acquired hemophilia. It is shown that ICA is an effective method for pre-selection of patients with hereditary hemophilia if you suspect an inhibitor to subsequent confirmation test Bethesda. The method the FP has just proved itself in the diagnosis of acquired forms of hemophilia. The use of FP method is most expedient at the stage of screening to identify inhibitors in the laboratory. Method FP loses diagnostic value if the results of the activity factor in all dilutions is close to zero, which is characteristic for individual variants of hereditary hemophilia.

Anticoagulant therapy in pediatric patients remains an issue and safer therapies, such as direct oral anticoagulants could overcome the limitations of conventional anticoagulant treatments in this pop...
Recently, disagreements remain in increasing evidence about the potential value of circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) as a noninvasive diagnostic biomarker for ovarian cancer (OC). Here, this update me...
To map the Shah-modified Barthel Index (SBI) to the Health Utility Index Mark III (HUI-3) in stroke patients, and to compare the performance of a recently developed method called the Mean Rank Method ...
Activated protein C (APC) acts as an "on demand" anticoagulant, reducing thrombin formation. Reduced plasma levels of APC or protein C (PC) are associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembol...
To evaluate the clinical outcomes of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) application for hemostasis after dental extraction in patients receiving anticoagulant therapy with factor Xa inhibitors.
Several methods are available to measure ankle brachial index (ABI) non-invasively. A recent scientific statement of the AHA considers the Doppler method as the reference. However because ...
Early diagnosis of malignant tumors is pivotal for improving their prognoses. Circulating tumor cells (CTC) in peripheral blood and Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in exhaled breath are ...
Thyroid nodule patients with suggestion of fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) offered by ultrasound are enrolled in the study. CTCs tested by Optimizing method and FNAB will be performed...
Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine whether growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF15) and circulating neprilysin (cNEP) improve the diagnosis of congestive heart failure (HF) ...
Panoramic radiographs of finished orthodontic cases will be collected after fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Then the collected data will be divided into two groups accordi...
A compound originally developed as an anticoagulant, but possessing anticomplement action and lowering the bactericidal action of blood. It is used in vitro to inhibit blood coagulation and as a diagnostic reagent to encourage the growth of pathogens in the blood. It is also used to stabilize colloidal solutions such as milk and gelatin. (From Merck Index, 11th ed)
Clotting time of PLASMA recalcified in the presence of excess TISSUE THROMBOPLASTIN. Factors measured are FIBRINOGEN; PROTHROMBIN; FACTOR V; FACTOR VII; and FACTOR X. It is used for monitoring anticoagulant therapy with COUMARINS.
The number of RETICULOCYTES per unit volume of BLOOD. The values are expressed as a percentage of the ERYTHROCYTE COUNT or in the form of an index ("corrected reticulocyte index"), which attempts to account for the number of circulating erythrocytes.
A hemostatic disorder characterized by a poor anticoagulant response to activated protein C (APC). The activated form of Factor V (Factor Va) is more slowly degraded by activated protein C. Factor V Leiden mutation (R506Q) is the most common cause of APC resistance.
An index for monitoring the accumulation of lipids based on the WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE measurement and the level of TRIGLYCERIDES circulating in the blood.
Pediatrics is the general medicine of childhood. Because of the developmental processes (psychological and physical) of childhood, the involvement of parents, and the social management of conditions at home and at school, pediatrics is a specialty. With ...
