Column Characterization and Selection Systems in Reversed-Phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography.

Reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) is the most popular chromatographic mode, accounting for more than 90% of all separations. HPLC itself owes its immense popularity to it...

A pH-stable, crosslinked stationary phase based on the thiol-yne reaction.

Stationary phases that can withstand extremes of pH and temperature are needed to allow a single column to accommodate a wider set of solutes and separation criteria. We used a simple multi-step proce...

Isomer separation of sialylated O- and N-linked glycopeptides using reversed-phase LC-MS/MS at high temperature.

Analyses of intact glycopeptides using mass spectrometry is challenging due to the numerous types of isomers of glycan moieties attached to the peptide backbone. Here, we demonstrate that high-tempera...

Determination of glyphosate and aminomethylphosphonic acid by sequential-injection reversed-phase chromatography: method improvements and application in adsorption studies.

This paper describes a low-cost reversed-phase sequential injection chromatography method for the determination of glyphosate and aminomethylphosphonic acid in environmental samples. The method is bas...

Core-Shell Metal-Organic Frameworks As The Mixed-Mode Stationary Phase For Hydrophilic Interaction/Reversed-Phase Chromatography.

Stationary phases with mixed-mode mechanisms emerge as a hot research topic. In the present research, monodisperse core-shell UiO-67@SiO2 materials were prepared and further served as the packed colum...

Surgical Management of Posterior Tibial Plateau Fractures

This protocol concerns an academic, multicentric, and prospective clinical trial. In this study the investigators will evaluate the recently approved WAVE-plate (7S Medical) for open reduc...

Clinical Evaluation of Direct Dorsal Column Stimulation for the Management of Chronic, Medically Refractory Neuropathic Pain

The primary objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that direct dorsal column stimulation is safe in the treatment of medically refractory, chronic neuropathic pain. The study w...

Comparison of Dorsal Column Stimulation to Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a constellation of pain symptoms which are associated with impairment in mood, social and physical function. Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), a techn...

3D Versus 4K Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Introduction: Three-dimensional key-hole surgery ('laparoscopic') systems are proven to reduce the time required to complete tasks in laboratory settings. This benefit derives from the add...

Primary Tumor Research and Outcome Network

Clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic data specific for primary spinal column tumor patients will be collected and evaluated to investigate the prognostic factors which influence survival,...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Fractionation of a vaporized sample as a consequence of partition between a mobile gaseous phase and a stationary phase held in a column. Two types are gas-solid chromatography, where the fixed phase is a solid, and gas-liquid, in which the stationary phase is a nonvolatile liquid supported on an inert solid matrix.

CELL CYCLE regulatory signaling systems that are triggered by DNA DAMAGE or lack of nutrients during G2 PHASE. When triggered they restrain cells transitioning from G2 phase to M PHASE.

Regulatory signaling systems that control the progression of the CELL CYCLE through the G1 PHASE and allow transition to S PHASE when the cells are ready to undergo DNA REPLICATION. DNA DAMAGE, or the deficiencies in specific cellular components or nutrients may cause the cells to halt before progressing through G1 phase.

The study of systems which respond disproportionately (nonlinearly) to initial conditions or perturbing stimuli. Nonlinear systems may exhibit "chaos" which is classically characterized as sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Chaotic systems, while distinguished from more ordered periodic systems, are not random. When their behavior over time is appropriately displayed (in "phase space"), constraints are evident which are described by "strange attractors". Phase space representations of chaotic systems, or strange attractors, usually reveal fractal (FRACTALS) self-similarity across time scales. Natural, including biological, systems often display nonlinear dynamics and chaos.

Two-phase systems in which one is uniformly dispersed in another as particles small enough so they cannot be filtered or will not settle out. The dispersing or continuous phase or medium envelops the particles of the discontinuous phase. All three states of matter can form colloids among each other.
