Summary of "A case report of ten-month-neglected anterior shoulder dislocation managed by open reduction combined with Latarjet procedure."

Neglected shoulder dislocation is a rare case and may be accompanied by pathological changes in bony and soft tissue structure. Therefore, it requires extensive surgical procedure. Until now, there is no standard treatment protocol to overcome this case and it is still a challenging case.

Posterior dislocation of the long head biceps tendon: a case report, specific radiographic finding, and review of the literature.

Posterior dislocation of the long head of the biceps tendon uncommonly occurs with traumatic shoulder injury. The diagnosis is almost always associated with anterior shoulder dislocation which often c...

Atypical Osteonecrosis of Humeral Head FollowingAnterior Shoulder Dislocation.

Osteonecrosis of the humeral head is not a very common entity. It is usually associated with comminuted proximal humerus fractures. We report a rare case of osteonecrosis of humeral head after anterio...

Posterior shoulder dislocation; an often-missed diagnosis.

Posterior shoulder dislocation after a traumatic event is often underdiagnosed. Consequently, treatment is initiated too late and patients experience pain and loss of motion. Conventional X-ray is the...

Arthroscopic Superior Capsular Reconstruction for Dislocation of the Shoulder with an Irreparable Rotator Cuff Tear: A Case Report.

A 49-year-old man presented with apprehension of a repeat dislocation after a left shoulder dislocation, which was accompanied by pain and restricted active range of motion of the shoulder. We perform...

Glenoid and rotator interval dimension in patients older than 40 years after traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation.

The number of patients above 40 years suffering an anterior shoulder dislocation for the first time has recently increased. This study investigated the role of glenoid version, inclination and rotato...

Self Reduction of Shoulder Dislocation

Anterior dislocation of the shoulder (glenohumeral joint) is one of the most prevalent dislocations. Following a first dislocation recurrence rates of up to 80% have been reported. Many pa...

The Noergaard Technique for Anterior Shoulder Dislocation

In this paper we describe and evaluate the results of the Noergaard technique through a retrospective analysis of patients admitted and treated for anterior shoulder dislocation at the ED ...

Immobilization in External Rotation After First Time Anterior Shoulder Dislocation

The purpose of this study is to compare immobilization in internal versus external rotation after first time anterior shoulder dislocation, and thereby increase our knowledge about the bes...

Randomized clinical trial, parallel 1:1, comparing Latarjet to Modified Eden-Hybinnett (iliac bone crest + capsular repair) for recurrent traumatic anterior glenohumeral dislocation.

Immobilization in External Rotation of Acute Shoulder Dislocations

The purpose of this study is to determine whether immobilizing the affected shoulder of first time anterior shoulder dislocation patients in external rotation (vs immobilization in traditi...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

The planned and carefully managed manual movement of the musculoskeletal system, extremities, and spine to produce increased motion. The term is sometimes used to denote a precise sequence of movements of a joint to determine the presence of disease or to reduce a dislocation. In the case of fractures, orthopedic manipulation can produce better position and alignment of the fracture. (From Blauvelt & Nelson, A Manual of Orthopaedic Terminology, 5th ed, p264)

Displacement of the HUMERUS from the SCAPULA.

Congenital dislocation of the hip generally includes subluxation of the femoral head, acetabular dysplasia, and complete dislocation of the femoral head from the true acetabulum. This condition occurs in approximately 1 in 1000 live births and is more common in females than in males.

Diseases that are underfunded and have low name recognition but are major burdens in less developed countries. The World Health Organization has designated six tropical infectious diseases as being neglected in industrialized countries that are endemic in many developing countries (HELMINTHIASIS; LEPROSY; LYMPHATIC FILARIASIS; ONCHOCERCIASIS; SCHISTOSOMIASIS; and TRACHOMA).
